Iceland 2025

So I've been to Iceland before (via Icelandair, where we took advantage of their "layover" concept) but that was in the winter with the northern lights. This time it was all about midnight sun and we were there for the summer solstice so it was genuinely a long ass day.

Because we were only spending 4 days on the island, we opted to rent a camper van. We had one thing that was scheduled and everything else we molded around that. When we arrived, we stocked up on groceries and then decompressed at the Blue Lagoon immediately. We went as far east as Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon and then stopped at a few spots on the way back west, including Vik and Reynisfjara. We took a ferry to the Westman Islands, which was so amazing because we saw so many puffins and had a delicious meal at Slippurinn - their final season! The campsite on the island was gorgeous. Once we were back on the mainland we hit up Seljalandsfoss before heading to the Golden Circle. Back in Reykjavik, we spent our final night at a hotel (the Ion City in a room with a sauna) and then had the most indulgent meal at Dill. The day of our flight, we spent the morning exploring Reykjavik at a snail's pace to finish out our vacation. I had an amazing time.

We rented our camper van through Kuku Campers and it was a decent experience. The vehicle was relatively well-stocked and organized well enough to make for reasonably comfortable camping for the duration we were there.
Here's my video diary:
