60 Hours in Toronto

For my return to international travel (following the pandemic) I went to Toronto for a few days with my favorite friend from college. It was super low key and relaxing and we mostly just walked around the Liberty Village / Kensington Market neighborhoods, ate delicious foods, drank yummy cocktails, and just enjoyed each others' company.

I flew United and I was pleasantly surprised to get upgraded to first class on the way there and on the way back.

I'm sharing just a few snippets from the trip.
We stayed at The Drake and loved it. It was a really cute spot, in a great location, decor was gorgeous, and the staff were v. friendly and accommodating. On Thursday, after we landed, we had lunch at a Thai place, dessert at Nugateau Patisserie, really fantastic drinks at Bar Pompette (highly recommend 'Hive Mind'), and dinner at Pelicana Chicken.

On Friday, we got up early and got our COVID tests at Swift Clinics (required for reentry to the U.S.) and then had brunch at Good Fork (which was probably my favorite meal of the trip), spent some time admiring Jesse Chun's work at Gallery TPW, did some window shopping along Bloor, bought some old books from Monkey's Paw, had a spot of tea at Filosophy, ate some poutine and happy hour ales at Folly Brewpub, and grabbed a few timbits to round out our snack. Then we went to the free Friday evening at the MOCA and then went back to our hotel to have dinner.
On Saturday, we grabbed tea and coffee from Major Treat Coffee and some super delicious croissants from Mabel's and enjoyed them in our quaint hotel lobby before checking out. We walked to Chinatown to have dim sum at Rosewood Asian Cuisine, stopped by Members Only just to ogle the goods, and then we were off to the airport to head home.
It was an awesome trip.
