Willow Oak Flower & Herb Farm

Last weekend, I went to a bridal shower for a friend who lives in DC. The shower was hosted at a beautiful little farm in Maryland called Willow Oak. It was a beautiful little property that was really well maintained and incredibly charming.
The weather was incredibly balmy but only compared to the climate we'd departed from. Apparently, it was actually really nice and we had just missed record breaking temperatures.

We started the morning with delicious smoothies and coffees before hopping in a couple of cars to the farm.
The tablescapes and flower arrangements were lovely.
And the grounds were sprinkled with gorgeous flowers. I especially loved the bits of mint everywhere; if you accidentally stepped on some, you were rewarded with beautiful aromas.
They make their own tea blends and they're delicious. We had an 'around the world' tea which was supremely balanced. It wasn't overly bitter or floral; it was just right and really smooth.
The food that was served was pretty delicious. We had an amazing spinach and gruyere quiche, which I thought was the star of the meal. The scones were a bit too sweet but I really appreciated the clotted cream; clotted cream is a must when enjoying scones.
After the shower festivities were finished, we had some time to roam the grounds. We said hello to some birds and met a cute dog called Barley.
The ladies from the farm also gave us some dried lavender as a party favor. It smelled awesome. Overall, it was a really enjoyable day, despite the heat and the handful of mosquito bites I received pre-spraying myself with Off!. If you're ever in the area, I recommend a visit. I think this place would be especially beautiful right at the beginning of spring with fresh blooms.
xoxo.
