tropical vacations

With all of this stupid crappy weather and snow (after a lovely 70 degree teaser last Friday) I'm definitely ready to hit up some beaches in 80+ degree weather. We're packed and pretty much ready to go. Our collaborative google docs spreadsheet is getting some last minute editing with potential dinner places and island hot spots.

We've also decided to call a car service to bring us to the airport. Because our flight departs at 6:55, we need to be at the airport by 5am and finding a cab willing to go to JFK Airport at 4 in the morning might be tough. We opted with Dial 7 and found some coupon codes on retailmenot. The required flat rate fare for NYC taxis is $45 + tolls to/from JFK to/from Manhattan. The car service we chose is $48 + tolls, but we have a $5/off coupon so it's a comparable rate. If you're headed to the airport during a more "normal" hour, then I'd opt for cab.

On our way home, we plan on taking a taxi. There should be cabs lined up outside of the airport (hopefully) though we land close to midnight. Our fingers are crossed!
