preparation
Our trip is set for this coming Thursday! YEEPS! I'm pretty excited. A few last minute preparatory arrangements must be made.
- We need to fill in our passport information with the airlines. Not all airlines require this; just double check on the website. It's not always absolutely necessary to do this, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
- Print boarding passes before we go. Ryanair and Easyjet allow you to print your boarding pass ahead of time, which is SO convenient if you don't need to check any baggage. No waiting in queues = less hassle!
- Let the hotels you are staying at know when you will be arriving. This is a good idea because some places don't staff their front desk 24/7 so if you arrive at a really odd time (like 3:00 in the morning), you may be out of luck.
- Check current weather abroad and verify that you are packing appropriate clothing. Checking typical weather for whatever month you are travelling is somewhat helpful, but who knows? There could be some nutso cold spell going on or a warm front or a monsoon. Double checking is just a good idea.
- Exchange money! (If you planned on doing it beforehand).
- Call credit card companies to let them know you will be travelling abroad.
