Revitalash Before & After

Yes, I'm back from Toronto, hooray! I've got loads of photos to share but I've got to dig through them and edit them and organize them before I share. In the meantime, I have a little beauty review to share.

I know there are plenty of Revitalash reviews and blog posts on the internet already but I'm here to add another one to the pile.

I bought a two-pack for about $100 during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I bought it on a whim, just hoping it would work for me. I've been using coconut oil for about a year, just smearing it on my lashes and eyebrows to hydrate them, which helps them to resist breakage. It did help my lashes to grow stronger and to make them look thicker but it did nothing for the length. I thought maybe Revitalash would do the trick.

The tube looks like mascara and the applicator is a small brush that looks like a liquid eyeliner brush.
The product itself is pretty thin, but it's thick enough that it doesn't drip off of the brush. And that makes for the most perfect consistency because it's easy to apply the product and spread it across your lashes (without needing to double dip) but it won't just leach out and make its way onto your eyeball.

I apply it to my lash line once a day in the evening - just a quick swipe, as if I'm messily applying eyeliner - after I've showered and washed my face and applied my moisturizer. I dip the brush in the pot once for each eye and use whatever's leftover on the brush on my lower lash line. It makes my lashes look slightly wet for a few minutes. While I wait for the product to dry, I'll brush my teeth. Once it's good and dry, I feel comfortable enough taking out my contacts. By the way, I look like I'm naked here but I'm wearing a tube dress, you friggin' perverts.
Okay, now let's talk about the results, which is the fun part. So, I took photos before I started using Revitalash and then I tried to take them weekly afterwards. I'm missing weeks 1 and 3 because I forgot to take photos (my bad). I think you can certainly see a difference in my lashes, right? They are thicker, fuller, and ever so slightly longer. The week 5 results don't look too much longer than the week 4 shot, but if you look closely, you can see that they're long enough that the tips are just slightly curled up. Please excuse the bags under my eyes!
I didn't take progression photos of my lower lashes but they're definitely longer too. I barely had any lower lashes, seriously, it was just peach fuzz. Now, they're long and thick enough that I can brush on a light coat of mascara.

And here I am with makeup on. I've got one coat of mascara on. I'm sure my lashes look quite unimpressive to those of you blessed with lush lashes, but to me, this is a huge improvement!
I've even got enough lashes to make a difference to my profile.
So, is it worth it? Well, I've heard great praise from some and womp-womps from others so I think it depends on you and your body and your eyelash chemistry. That's what will determine whether or not the product works. So, maybe buy it from Nordstrom, which has a v. forgiving and loose return policy, and try it out and see if it works for you. It's definitely pricey, but for someone like me (re: someone with incredibly sparse and short lashes) it's worthwhile. I have read that once you stop using it, the effects wear off, which totally makes sense. The product is providing nutrients and vitamins and whatnot to your lashes; you can't expect that to be permanent.

I'm obviously still using this stuff so if I see any more dramatic changes, I'll report back!

xoxo.
